    Extended Warranty

Believe you can buy up to another 3 years from Honda. The maximum extended warranty (another 3 years) is around £1000 - your dealer will be able to sort it out for you if you decide to go for it! Has to be purchased before the car reaches 3 year old. Info here...

    FK8 New Tyre Tread Depth

Yeah, I recently got a set of continental Sport Contact 6. They also came with 7mm, and also had nearly 1mm less on the inside edge. I believe UHP tyres can’t have more tread because if they did, the blocks would flex too much and affect performance when new. I imagine the taper across the width...

    FK8 Fk8 current values

I suspect there are more than a few dealers/manufacturers considering chasing margin rather than volume in the future. They are the only winners in the current situation. These higher prices may be here to stay. What the consumer gains in their used car value they lose on the new purchase price...

    FK2 Fk2 6yrs/75000 miles service

Hi - A few pages from the FK8 manual which may help with the MTF change. I believe the engine/gearbox is the same as the FK2. The lubes required for the FK8 are on the 3rd image and one would assume that they would also be the same for the FK2. The FK8 fuel filter is actually inside the fuel...

Stuff for scratch removal on black door trim

No one has answered this question and I’ve just found it so thought I’d post incase anyone still looking for a way to deal with this problem. That trim picks up scratches and swirl marks so easily! I’ve found Meguiars-G17216EU-Ultimate-Compound-Restorer really good for sorting out scratches on...

    FK8 FK2/FK8 sportline wheels

Ah! - should have realised. 245/35r19 is the recommended choice. Only 3mm difference in circumference.

    FK8 FK2/FK8 sportline wheels

The turn in of the standard 20” wheels is fantastic. I’ve got fk2 wheels with winter tyres, and concur that turn in is not so addictive (probably even less so with winters). Very hard decision whether or not to sacrifice it even slightly! Financially it makes perfect sense! I ran your 245/45r19...

    FK8 FK2/FK8 sportline wheels

I can confirm that the Sportline comes with 19”FK2 wheels without the red rim line (and painted a different colour). So offset is ET 60 same as OEM FK8 GT 20” wheels. Tyres are 245/35 r19 Michelin pilot sport 4s on the sport line - which is probably the best option for you to use. It may be of...

FK8 New FK8 owners Q&A - everything you want to know and dare to ask here

Yes - you are quite right of course. Guess I’m over thinking it too much.

FK8 New FK8 owners Q&A - everything you want to know and dare to ask here

That sound good. Cox motors group have around 15 dealerships in the northwest - They do mail order service packs with either Honda’s own type 2 oil (which costs a bit more) or Castrol 0w20(H) which their website states is ILSAC GF5. I think vehicle manufacturers are in a difficult position...

FK8 New FK8 owners Q&A - everything you want to know and dare to ask here

I thoroughly recommend the rally armor flaps. I reckon they save a whole lot of gravel rash! The car is on FK2 wheels with winter tyres in these photo’s - which I also recommend (only in winter obviously). Don't have to slow down much when it gets cold then! You can get the flaps from...

FK8 New FK8 owners Q&A - everything you want to know and dare to ask here

Oil specification is a bit of a minefield to decode. Certainly, using an oil not specified by the manufacturer could potentially invalidate the warranty - an especially important consideration if you are tracking! I believe that if your car is on a service plan that most workshops will use...

FK8 New FK8 owners Q&A - everything you want to know and dare to ask here

Looks like you can tell if your car has a GPF by the markings on the oil filler cap. Page 673 of the manual. Guess I'm a sad git for actually reading it! Mine is a 2018 built in April that year and it has those markings on the filler cap.

FK8 New FK8 owners Q&A - everything you want to know and dare to ask here

I agree that it sounds very dubious - that’s why I decided on one of the last fk8’s from Swindon too. But it is possible that mk10 production does continue in Japan. Difficult to find very much about it - this Asian website discusses it...

FK8 New FK8 owners Q&A - everything you want to know and dare to ask here

The Sportline will be every bit as good to drive as the GT. I guess I just kinda like the big wing. I’m paying for my preference though, the sport line I looked at in April was available with a discount which I’m not getting on the GT.

FK8 New FK8 owners Q&A - everything you want to know and dare to ask here

Yeah, I couldn’t really believe it either, but the dealer was adamant, and would have been happy to order one that was made in Japan for me. I did read somewhere that the Yorri plant in Japan already makes the mk10 civic sedan for the domestic (Japanese) market, so the investment to make the...

FK8 New FK8 owners Q&A - everything you want to know and dare to ask here

I believe that fk8 production is going to continue in Japan at the Yorii, Saitama Prefecture plant. I tried to order a racing blue pearl back in early April, and was told that I could, but that it would be around 6 months and would come from Japan. Instead I place an order for a pmm which is...

    FK8 Battery Charging

The battery on the fk8 is a little weak and soon goes flat if the car is not used regularly. Page 713 of the owners manual states that the battery should be disconnected before charging. However, if you do this, you will get the full Christmas tree warning light display on restarting the car on...
