FK2 fk2 eventuri help

Messages

Hi all,

My Civic Type R FK2 had no issues before installing the Eventuri induction kit. After fitting it, I accidentally forgot to reconnect the MAF sensor, which caused the engine management light to come on.

I connected reconnected the MAF sensor after a minute or so and the light went gone off, but I’m now experiencing spluttering on cold start.

I’ve also noticed that when switching into +R mode, two of the gauges aren’t displaying anything (see attached image).

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas what might be causing this?
Thanks in advance

It sounds more likely that something was disturbed during the Eventuri installation rather than any permanent damage from briefly running with the MAF disconnected. I'd start by double-checking the MAF connector from https://www.bearingdirectory.com, intake pipe clamps, and all vacuum connections for a small air leak, as an unmetered air leak can easily cause spluttering on cold starts. It may also be worth clearing any stored fault codes and letting the ECU relearn. The missing +R gauge data could indicate a sensor or communication issue that may still be logged even though the engine light went out. The issue is unlikely to be related to mechanical components such as TBS bearings, so a scan with Honda-compatible diagnostics should be the next step before chasing anything more serious.
