Help please

Firstly, thank you for letting me join the Type R Owners Site. I have been an owner of a Type R 2002 Model for 19 years.
I was involved in an accident which resulted in damage to the passenger door & quarter panel.
A replacement door & quarter panel have been sourced but when the body shop stripped my car down they discovered damage to the B post, we cannot locate this part, there was one showing in Greece on Honda's redundant stock but on enquiring it was no longer available.
I have spoken to the Insurance & they are stating that I can't obtain this part from a scrap yard.
Has anyone any ideas please as I am distraught that my car may have to be "scrapped"
I am not what people conceive as a Type R driver being 71 years old lady & my regular passenger is my Chocolate Labrador dog.
It was my dream to drive the coastline of Great Britain in my Type R with my dog next year & will be devastated if the only option is to scrap my car.
Thank you for reading this & hopefully someone can give me a solution or advice

If you've had it that long it's like losing a close relative!
One option does spring to mind providing that body shop can guarantee a proper, safe repair.
If you negotiate with your insurance company to write off the car, you can then buy it back off them for salvage and get it repaired yourself.

This will have to be declared to any future insurer & also to any future buyer should you ever sell it.

As Wilmo says; Best option would be a buyback and "Self repair" with a reputable garage.

There's quite a lot of EP3s available for breaking / parts, so I'm sure you could find the parts you need - Would take a bit of doing, asassuming it's the B pillar section that is damaged, it would need to be cut from a donor car and welded into place. - Your best bet would perhaps be a Honda specialist with an EP3 parts car:

This video has a fairly good rundown of what would be involved in replacing the pillar (Plus the respray and general bodywork to go with)

Thank you for the advice and the video, it's really interesting to watch.

Thank you for your advise, I really appreciate it. Yes my Type R is defo my best friend, I've travelled all over the UK in it. Even Island hopping in the Orkney Isles. I was over the moon when the Insurance approved the replacement door & quarter panel but it was when the door & panel were taken off they discovered damage to the B post
