Insurers having my pants down!

Just got the Renewal through today. Now, still with a clean licence and 6 years NCB, they have somehow increased the premium by £500! So, this begs the question guys "Which brokers are worth getting a quote from!" I don't know the rules on mentioning company names so without taking the risk, I'm with a well known company with the nodding dog but am desperately wanting suggestions on who to try for a 'less expensive' quote. Thanks

Try Sky Insurance mate they do me well on my S2000.

When I had my EP3 I was insured with Adrian Flux as a broker, but that was still reasonable.

A-plan have always beat my sky quote for the past few years on my DC5.

Just ring around as many as you can, you normally find one that is considerably cheaper in my experience.

Mainstream companies like yours are usually more expensive unless you mr average with a family car.

i cant find anyone cheaper than admiral at the minute

might give sky a go tomorrow as ive heard good things

I have always been with Adrian Flux, they are the bomb and they even insured me on my ol skyline when I was 21 but had to leave them when Churchill would cover me on my EP3 the cheapest, naturally. I'll try the ones you guys suggested. Thanks for your input

i'm 21, 0 years NCB and i pay £810 a year full comp in my name with my mum and uncle as named drivers!

Sky couldn't beat my renewal with Admiral this year but I do live within a 'bad' postcoded area and this is the reason why they said they couldn't beat it :( We'll see come renewal time though who'll give me the cheapest quote.

Scott

Ive checked admiral and they're pretty much the same as churchill are, sky will be calling me tomorrow with their quote. I payed £1017 last year, and now they want like £1500 this year, still with a clean licence, 6 NCB and no mods? I think they need to stop buying their calculators from ebay!

That's it, Sky said they couldn't come anywhere near to Admiral with their quote, which surprised me tbh as being a 'specialist' insurer I thought it would be a safe bet, obviously not though :(

I think when I come to renew a multicar policy with the missus will be the best bet, maybe

I rang admiral and they quoted me £1100 fully comp, i then asked about the multicar policy, my mrs's policy with churchill doesnt expire untill august but because she promised to go with admiral once her renewal was up they quoted my £650 fully comp. She has a 1.6 mini cooper and wil be paying £33 a month once she joins admiral. bargain. on the downside if i have a crash she loses her no claims bonus too and vice versa.

That last bit is a bit of a bummer but that's an awesome price IMO :D :D :D

yeah its a bargain, was really suprised with it. i paid the £650 off in one go or otherwise it would have been more like £900 if i had done monthly installments.

Sky won't insure me because 1. I'm 24 not 25 and 2. because of the type of car it is!! Smells like bulls**t to me! Now, if I had 3 Ferraris and just added the 4th to the policy, I had 9 points on my license and had ran over an killed 7 people then fair do's, but I havn't!

We'll look at each case on it's own merit, if you have owned the car for a good period, have NCB and keep the car in a garage or driveway we should be able to elp, if you meet this criteria please PM me your details.

Thanks

Hi Ollie, i need to ......

If you read Oli's post it says PM him, keep quotes and further personal information to PM, it's safer and doesn't clutter the thread with irrelevant stuff :) .

Feel free to come back with your result though.
