how long would you suggest not putting the wheels back on or driving the car after painting your brake calipers?
 
I would have thought the wheels can go back on straight away. But I'd leave it a couple of hours before going out for a thrash.
Others might have a better view/experience on this...not sure how long to wait before hot brake dust and fresh paint are thrown together.
 
From previous experience it depends on where and when. Summer time 2 hours or so has them touch dry but still not 100%. I usually painted them left them 2-3 hours then fitted wheels again but didnt drive it until next day, never had any problems.
 
I did mine at my parents with Hammerite, wheels straight on, it was touch dry in about 30 minutes. I drove 12 miles home about 4 hours after painting, the heat will help the paint cure, just don't go silly.
 
Have to disagree on hammerite (If a bright colour).

Red hammerite was quite dull, red caliper paint was very very red which only required one coat (gave it 2).

Hammerite is fine for silver/black though.
 
When i painted the calipers on my previous motor, i left them for 3-4hours, but that was purely because i didn't need to use the car for a while.

I wouldn't even consider doing them at this time of the year tbh. I'd wait until the summer (If we have one).
