Hi all,
I just fitted oil pump without balance shaft in my Type R Fn2. Aside from all the positive effects that are immediately noticeable, there is a loud drone that starts around 4000 rpm and it's strongest at 4400. Sounds like motorway drone (just the engine sounds louder). Measured 75 db with phone app at 4400 rpm. I knew it would be louder but maybe I didn't imagine it to be that loud. Some say it will go away after a few thousand miles. Is that true?
I also noticed that at low revs, partly, and at higher revs, I hear it whining slightly, resembling a supercharger. But this sound is pleasant. I just hear the rollers turning.
Is all this normal?
Regards,
