What’s the best oil after a ReMap

Hi Petrol heads. Can anyone please give me some advice/info about which is the best motor oil I should start using. I’ve just had a stage1 re map done to my 2020 20,000miles FK8. Taking it up to 364 Bhp. I’ve been told that I now need to change to a race oil. But I’m unsure of what type. I look forward to hear your views.

TBH I don't think you would need a 'race oil' not sure who told you that but I've never heard of it.

I know you would need to use a specific fuel after remapping, for example if the car has been remapped on 99ron that's what you would need to use, you couldn't use a general 95ron, not sure if that's what you mean.

Otherwise just use a good quality oil at the correct grade and a good oil filter. I believe they use a 0w20 oil so use that grade but stick to a good oil, Motul, Millers etc. You could also change the oil and filter more regularly too, especially if you track it or are a 'spirited driver'. I think it's around 8k miles on these for a regular maintenance oil change, so half it and change the oil and filter around 4k miles instead. Hope at least some of this makes sense

Any oil which meets the specification API SN, ILSAC GF-5, 0W 20 would be fine.

Thanks Guys for your wise comments.
It was actually the engineer that Did the remap who told me I should need to start using a different oil.
Yesterday I asked Opie Oils uk to recommend one to me, based on my modifications. They replied with this.

Hi Gareth,

I would use a 5w-30 oil in that engine.
The best options are the Fuchs Pro S/Pro Race C3, Millers EE, Red Line, Elf HTX and Motul 300V/8100 Power. Castrol Edge, Mobil ESP, Motul 8100, Shell Helix Ultra, Amsoil, Millers XF, Fuchs GT1, Valvoline SynPower, Petronas Syntium 5000, Elf Evolution and Comma X-Flow are very good alternatives.

hope this information helps anyone else with similar issues.

Regards Gtec

I thought with those engines the thinner the oil the better but Opie Oils do know there stuff, that's where I go to for my oils.
