Ep3 steering wheel changed and airbag light?

Hi

This is the first time creating a thread so please don't bite my head off. I have bought an aftermarket omp steering wheel thinking it'd be an easy change but was told it wouldn't be due to the squib. I took the steering wheel off and didn't know what to do from there as I didn't want to mess anything up. Since I took the airbag off the light has come on and won't go off. If someone could help me out and give me some info on the steering wheel and the airbag light is really appreciate it.

Thanks

The airbag light will be because you turned the ignition on while the steering wheel was off. It has recorded a fault on the system now as the airbag wasn't connected at the time, and now needs resetting.

This thread tells you how to reset the Airbag system if the OEM airbag is back in place: https://type-r-owners.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?95938-How-to-fool-and-reset-airbag-system

Can't help you with the wheel however. You normally have t use an adaptor boss to fir aftermarket steering wheels, but it isn't something that I've done before.

Welcome to the forum.

Unsure if you've actually gone through with the wheel change? If you have then read on.

I put your exact thread title into Google, and found the following thread on here as the first result:

The third post suggests you need a 2.2 ohm resister to cancel the SRS light.

There's a cancelling kit available on Demon Tweaks.
