DC2 DB8 DC5 DC5 LSD Question

Messages

Evening All,

I was under my DC5 today installing a new set of drop links and ARB poly bushes, whilst working on the car i noticed the front wheels turn in opposite directions when rotated. My understanding is that the LSD in the DC5 should result in both wheels turning in the same direction. If the wheels turn in the opposite direction then the diff is working as an open diff.

Am i incorrect? Any advice would be most appreciated .

I've recorded a video incase my explanation isn't clear.

Thanks

The diff is open in that situation. If you wanted them both to spin like that you'd need a 2-way LSD.

In real world driving it'll lock the wheels when one wheel loses traction.

This. I believe a plated 1.5 way will behave the same as a two way?

From what I've read, if I've remembered this right it'll be under load (acceleration) only and then open up again under deceleration.
