Just fitted the above - does the pressure differ from using 205 45 17 please?

Also, the drivers side front tyre rubs on the plastic wheel arch when braking around a bend and go over a bump. It did not do this with 205's.:(
 
You've gone wider and since profile is a percentage of the width, you've also increased the rolling radius and so you've increased size in two aspects.

If you had of gone 225/40/17 it would have been closer to OEM, but most people only go 215/40/17 because of the extra tyre with. Your speedo will now also be under-reading.

If it's catching, you'll eventually expose the cord. Spacers would help, as long as it doesn't then touch the outer arch.
