EP3 Flashy's CG EP3 premier

Quite possibly. The thing that always come to mind though, is how much does 20bhp actually make a difference. I've heard so many people saying a 215 keeps up with 235 etc all but a car length or 2, so it would be interesting to know.

I think that all depends on where you want to take a look at the difference, and where the difference is. If the difference is only at the very top, you would only be able to see it on the drag strip or something similar. Then again, if there's only a 5-10 bhp difference, but the car has a nice fat mid to high range, that's definately noticeable on track or driving on some twisty mountain roads. This is why I love my bike, torque and bhp numbers are the same as those on japanese inline 4s, but my low and mid range is so thick, that they either rev the crap out of theirs or fall behind on corner exits.

All in all, big numbers will of course give everyone bragging rights, but in the real world, on the streets, flexible torque and usable power will always prevail, and make the owner happier.

My car gained 20 bhp when my exhaust restriction was removed and it was noticeable, I think it's how the car responds to the mods rather than the numbers. I'll have a 7.5" velocity stack teg m feeding into an rrc. Will be interesting :D

This arrived today :D

RRC with adapter for IACV.

Very nice! It was nice knowing you slam panel, time to hack that away.

What's your time frame for fitting and mapping it?

It's actually a little shorter than an rbc, might get away with it. As soon as possible, I'm emailing my tuner tonight

Ported the thermal gasket with some fine trimming

Booked in for 2 weeks Saturday to get it fitted and mapped.

I had to cut far more than that for my rbc, I had to go right under the bonnet catch in the end as the wiring kept hitting.

Hopefully your rrc is different as you won't want to be messing around cutting more when you're having the work done.

That'll help then, the rbs was a surprisingly 'snug' fit when I did mine. Trimmed it, trimmed it again and then had to trim some more! Though all the space came in handy for the rotrex and pipework.

Five days to go and everything is ready.

Run 1 at 222bhp, run 2 at 225bhp and run 3 at 229bhp. Not bad considering oem exhaust manifold and cat.

Final figures 231bhp (193 whp) and 156lbft.

Happy with that. The torque is not as high as hoped but it's solid from 6k to limiter. Tuner thinks the cat needs changing to sports cat.

Does it drive any differently? What did you gain from the rrc? It will be good to see the dyno chart to see where the differences are.

Good stuff.

It's actually lost a bit between 5k and 5.5k but after 6k it flies. Change the cat for a dc5 set up or a solid fabs 3" plus mani and sports cat and it'll be in the 240s. Sounds superb too.

Here it is compared to previous map without rrc, new map is bold line, pre rrc is dotted line. Car needs a dc5 or sports cat to get the torque.
