Firstly, apologies. I searched for comparisons for what I am looking for and nothing came up so if this has been asked a million times before, Sorry to drag it up again.
The reason I ask is, last month I imported a 2002 Integra R DC5 through Torque GT. I'm really pleased with the car, it's just the springs have been replaced at some point with much harsher ones. I can imagine the roads in Japan are much smoother than what we have hear in Northern Ireland.
Anyway, got the car a major service at my local specialist and got him to drive it. Conclusion, "good car, s**t springs" in his words. So now I'm shopping for springs. He said the shocks look visually fine, but hard to know with the harshness of the springs.
I intend to use the DC5 as a summer car and have no plans for trackdays or anything like that, so it will need to be something that's close to OE if I can.
First option to mind, was to hunt out OE springs. Honda quoted me £396 inc VAT and said they are on back order.
I had a quick look over forums and Eibach and Spoon get mentioned regularly, paired with stock dampers.
Torque GT do a great value kit with camber arms and bolts for £330. They also do Spoon progressive springs for £345, but these look to be on back order as well.
I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the three options. I don't particularly care about looks or amount of drop, I know most aftermarket springs do drop a bit, I rather just have a car that drives well on the road, as close to the formula Honda intended.
Many thanks in advance.
