Type R #14 - CW FK8 GT

nah not until I drop it off in the morning in exchange for a Jazz :smt100 Dont get me wrong it drives fine, there is no play in anything but the front right just knocks on smooth rippled roads and is worse when cold. My preferred choice is by the end of tomorrow parts are on order and this time next week its all good and the feeling at Honda Mansfield is the shocker is faulty again!!! but until chassis ears proves this then who knows?

Just to give a quick update but for sure I do not want to keep junking your thread as I am looking forward to your FK8 mods and carbon fetish. Car been back at Honda and lost for words to be honest, I get told they can not reproduce the knocking so rather cheesed off as I think I am getting a royal do one response inform them to leave chassis ears fitted and I will come and drive it to produce the knocking. We go out spend a good half hour in the car and its perfect no knocking I do not know what to say. Matt the technician as far as he is aware has not found or cured any fault or done anything but the knocking has gone.

Hopefully its sorted but have said this before. The feeling is when the car was jacked up in the air so the shocker was fully extended has something like the spring then seated differently? no one knows but for sure its fine again

No garage queen here.

Though the throttle needs treating with respect when the roads are damp and greasy and the conti6 are known not to be a particularly good in the wet.

Updates. None really , still haven’t fitted the wind deflectors or black nuts.

I’m even enjoying the standard exhaust and intake and at the moment have no real desire to change anything

Bumped in to that “YouTuber” Archie Hamilton earlier and had a brief chat about cars :)

Nice to see it dirty. Mine is stinking as well, but it's to be enjoyed, although it definitely hides the grime better in grey!

With you on the exhaust too.

I have no idea what difference they offer apart from a blue ring.
I assume they are still LED, so is the only difference the blue ring?
Yes it would be a desirable difference....but entirely depends on the price.

It’s more of a crisper light , if that makes sense. I know the fk8 fogs are LED whereas the fk2 ones aren’t , but it’s certainly more of a crisper light. They list the yellow ones for the fk8 but I prefer the blue.

These are the same lights fitted to my previous car.

In a cruel twist of fate , I ended up fitting the yellow ones .. (blue ones for sale)

Blue ones are too similar to the fk8 oem ones. I like the light contrast with the yellow ones. Obviously much better in person.

Also removed front number plate surround..

And silver rear indicator bulbs fitted

Seeker gear knob also fitted - no pics yet.

What is the purpose of removing the front number plate surround?
I think it looks neater with it on rather than a bare rough edged plate which overhangs top and bottom anyway.

Personal preference I guess but I agree with you in that I think it looks better with. Plus the surround won't scratch the paint on the front, whereas I can imaging a bare plate will.

Unless the long term plan is filling and soothing the holes and a sticky plate, then yeah ditch the surround...

Yep personal preference. The surround was removed from the fk2 I had too.

Some dealers seem to use metal plates .. I’ve now got plastic ones , the plastic on plastic won’t scratch the paint. I much prefer the look now without a big plastic surround , it’s one less bit of big plastic to look at, at the front of the car ;)

Agree with dotty, when you see in the flesh it looks loads better. And everyone should get their metal dealer plates off. Damaged my paint!

K&N panel filter

A worthy mod. A nice increase in intake noise and has to be worth at least 1 bhp. It sounds great on full chat.

Project mu hc800 pads (front)

Although the brembos are great there is always room for improvement.

Also some goodridge braided lines.

Also a fluid change with RBF660.

For good measure a fresh oil change was also carried out.

Modulo Black wheel nuts.

Does what it says on the tin.

These were fitted to 4 brand new wheels and tyres , which I came by recently.
