Engine code

Morning all and hope you all had a lovely Christmas,
I have recently purchased a type R which has heavy damage but am converting to track race (Autograss)
It has a damaged sump plus other things,
I bought another sump from a ep3 but when I took the old one off it is different as it has a oil sensor fitted in the bottom of the one on the car and is also deeper, I have looked everywhere to find another but seems to be all the same as the one I have bought.
Engine number is K20Z42001819
What version have I got
Thanks for your help

K20Z4 is out of an FN2 (2006-2011)

Type R engine, but requires different ECU to run or you need to swap over all of the sensors and housings from the EP3 block, so it would seem someone has already done all that work to get it in an EP3 but obviously it will need a mix of EP3 and FN2 parts depending on what has been done.

Bit of a nightmare.

Thanks loxy
Just a couple more questions
I am staying with the existing engine and just changing the sump hopefully,
I need to Change the subframe as that is what caused the hole in the sump when it got damaged, would the ep3 version subframe fit as is it just the auxiliaries on the engine that are different
Thanks again

You won't fit an FN2 sub frame in an EP3 chassis. Depends on what they have done with the mounts, but it may have had none standard mounting points for a K20Z4 to accommodate the change of chassis. Can't say without seeing it.

Diagrams of both blocks and their mounts can be found on this site with a bit of trawling through: https://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_car_parts_select_model_C10
