Weird Noises from my car

Messages

Hello everyone!

I have been doing a lot of reading on these noises my car is making

When it is cold and I start the car it makes a funny deep sort of urging noise for 2-3 seconds if that makes sense, and sounds LIKE the chain is hitting things really weird (It is in one of the videos attached)

Also it has this really loud tapping noise while it warms up it is a lot louder when you go near the drivers side wheel (video is attached)

I believe it is the chain, tensioner, guides and pulley. Then the ticking/tapping noise is the valve clearences

I understand I may have answered my own questions but just looking for more opinions really.

I can try get better videos

It has never had the chain etc done, since my ownership I have changed the oil and kept it topped up using Shell Helix Ultra 5-40, honda oil filter - It was doing this before that ***

Any help is appreciated. If I do need all the work done who would be best to go to I am in Worcestershire. TI Motorsport is an hour away but from what I understand I would need to leave the car there for the night so it is dead cold? Any other places near that someone would trust

Thanks so much!

It's worth checking the chain at least I'd say. If you're handy with tools it doesn't take long to take the rocker cover off yourself.

I’ve got a new gasket to go on anyway

So I just get the arrows on the cams straight up to the sky (or a bit off as the engine is angled) and make sure it hasn’t skipped teeth etc? How can I tell, thanks

Seems a pretty straightforward check (at least for the top part, if that's off you've got a bigger job ahead of you anyway :) )

I think I might just bite the bullet and get everything sorted

chain
tensioner
guides
pulley
valve clearances
idler puley
belts

Is that all?

If anyone comes across this thread while searching.

I had all this done

chain
tensioner
guides
pulley
valve clearances
idler pulley
belts
Oil filter
Oil
Spark Plugs
Air Filter
Gearbox Oil

And the noise has completely gone! I used all genuine Honda parts and had TI Motorsport do it all. It was about 600 quid all in!
