Beautiful car! Gutted that they didn't sell these over here (aside from the hybrid/eco version lol).

Ever been tempted by white wheels? I'm assuming the whites are the standard factory wheels.

Thanks. I’m glad they didn’t sell them in the U.K. it makes it more special to me.

Yes, standard wheels are white but I prefer mine and the colour.

Great car mate. I mis mine loads so just in the process of getting another.

Had one before i got the FK2 and i can honestly say that the FD2 will out handle the FK2 all day long.

Amazing chassis. Enjoy!

I've started to freshen up the parts you don't tend to see, but they make a difference to me.

Firstly, I checked the valve clearances - all were fine.

Then fitted a refurbished cam cover in a beautiful glossy Milano red complete with new seals.

Next I've made a start on suspension bushes. Nothing major, lower ball joints rubber boots looked tired - the boots are replaceable by themselves but while it's apart there's no point doing half a job!
New ball joints fitted:

Next I'm looking to replace the front dampers with something fresh. Coilovers don't interest me as I only use it on the road (yes I know it's an fd2 and belongs on track..), so I'm unsure what to go for.
The Modulo suspension interests me but it's been discontinued, I doubt I'll find a set second hand either..

That car park looks vaguely familiar. If I'm not mistaken this is from the lower level, left of shot?

I’m not sure.. mine was taken on the A4107 facing Port Talbot.

Chris & Loxy - thanks. The link didn’t work on my phone, could you post a screenshot please?

How many miles has yours done? I have a set of OEM dampers in the garage you're welcome to put an offer in for. The car has done 80,000 miles, however I strongly suspect it was running on coilovers in Japan so it could be far less. No leaks, they worked perfectly fine on the car however they need new dust covers on the front.

Thanks both, I wasn’t aware that page existed. I’ve added it now.

Have you compressed the front dampers Chris? How do they respond?

Eta, mines on 78k miles Chris.

How do you mean compressed? I used them for about a year on road and track without issue.

Mine seem fine on the car too. I removed one at the weekend and compressed the damper (as if loading it up with a weight), it was very slow to re-extend. Just wondered how yours compared.

Thanks for the help with the dampers above, after receiving some photos from the seller I decided to leave it. I'm thinking of purchasing new OEM items unless something decent comes up.

In the meantime, I ditched the Japanese headunit for a Pioneer item with DAB. It suits the dash perfectly IMO, maps app works from phone too, so no need for sat-nav!

I added a reverse camera with OEM trim / surround thingy too:
