FK8 Admiral Car Insurance renewal just hit the roof.....

Messages
47
So our multicar just jumped from £700 to £2800..

New 18 plate fk8
17 plate crv ex

Myself 11 yrs no claims
Wife 2 yrs no claims

£250 excess with £100

Protected ncp

Both vehicles have accumulated 11 yrs with Admiral

I had two bangs last year, both in the 15 plate fk2..

First kind of my fault as it looks, but a guy ran into the back of me as I pulled out..

Second not my fault, went against 3rd party as he drove into my side over taking..

Any ideas out there for cheaper quotes?

Hi,
Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you like. If you wanted to PM me some contact details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.

That's top lurking.....do you have some internet spies out on the forums just waiting for the word "insurance" to pop up!!!

Ouch though Cookra, ouch indeed...!!!!!

Yikes!! That's some increase!!

When I added the Civic to my Admiral Multicar Policy it went up by about £160, although admittedly that was only for 10 months cover till renewal.

(As an aside re Adrian Flux. I had a £30,000 definitely-my-fault smash in another car about 4 years ago now and AF were absolutely 1000% fantastic and faultless in sorting out the recovery, repair and return of that car)

Yep they've been supporting us wallies with performance cars for years, I've always been with Harvey Keitel but wouldn't hesitate

My wife's insurance with Admiral went from £215 last year to £386 this year.
Gone with Halifax for £180 for the year. When I phoned Admiral to tell them not to renew, she asked if they could requote me, as she could see even without looking we'd get £50 off as we were loyal customers.
I told them to stick it, if they can't offer me a better price to start with then they can't be very honest in their dealings.

Did speak to a lovely girl In Nova Scotia, Canada though. Great accent.

Mine went from £780 for both cars to £1600! Valid reason for an increase but decided to shop around.

Managed to get it down to £1050 for both but one is now with Greenlight and other remains with Admiral.

If you find your premiums are changing.... try changing your job title - I saved 90 quid doing that.

It went from "Computer Specialist" to "Computer Engineer" .......

Why it dropped by 90 quid, I don't know!

one is now with Greenlight
I realise it will probably not affect you, but there is an important point to note about Greenlight Insurance which everybody may not be aware of....
They have a maximum car value of only £20000, which pretty much completely excludes them for the majority of brand new cars. I think their aim is to be a specialist insurer for older modified cars.
They also don't insure BMW's for some reason.

Yeah my old Focus ST was with Greenlight, I asked them for a quote on the Type R but they said the same - don't insure anything over a certain price.

Yeah I'm aware of those and the Stagea shockingly wasn't in any danger of being valued that high

I'll take your word for it....I have never even heard of it. :)
I will go look it up now but assume it must be a grey import.

It is indeed, usually mistaken for a Volvo but once you see one you'll know why haha!
