C30 rotrex supercharged or the usual bolts&mods?

I think they meant "would new FD still be annoying for a daily-driver if I also had a taller 6th for motorway and open-road cruising?"

That's what I mean. Shifting from 5th to 6th (which you will on some tracks) will be like going from 4th to 6th. Fine for the motorway but annoying on circuit.

5.1 in the FD2 I think is the perfect FD, quick enough compared to 4.9 (from memory in the EP3 etc) but not as annoying as 5.3 on the motorway.

Sorry to be that guy Chris, OEM EP3/DC5 final drive is 4.7.

I had a 5.1 installed in my DC5 and I loved the difference it made. I always wondered how a longer 6th would’ve felt but it was only a road weekend car for me. Only you can answer if the FD (and longer 6th) will be to your benefit IMO, depending on how you use the car.

No mapping required btw, you’re simply changing the gearbox ratio.

Yeah I couldn't remember. I had a 5.3 in the DC5 and it was too much for longer drives. The 5.1 in the FD (which is the original) is a better compromise.

I've got a 5.8 in my dc5 and I have a circa 3.5k rpm vtec point. It's annoying on motorway cruising. I have to do 60 and be really gentle with the accelerator.

It's fun when you are on a spirited drive or track though.

i get that, and i don't plan to track my ep3 yet, its just my daily drive, i commute about 10 miles a day, including work back and forwards and some other small journeys, never do motor ways, worst case scenario around where i live are the dual carriageways, but with a 5.1 on a ep3, on 6th gear at 70mph, what RPM would i be looking at ?

i have checked yday and i'm on about 4k rpm on 6th gear doing 80mph. ain't too bad or annoying and i can barely hear my own exhaust which is great.

Also I have been chatting a lot with Jaime Jackson from TDI north about some ideas, and i nearly went on the k24 route n/a. but i have been advised not to. not for a daily.
so now i have been looking to build something like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIfYo89s9Cg
and keep it n/a
so far Jaime advised me to:
We have a few 300bhp NA cars out there to be honest, have a look at Mo’s car below all the work was done here.

Yes so only looks like you need a few of the items.

Double check the exhaust as I didn’t know they did a 3.5 I have only seen 2.5 and 3 inch. You need 3 inch to make power.

Exhaust manifold is DC sports - £474 + fitting

Do you already have our ultimate cams?

Our cams are £1600 fitted

Remap is £350 on K100
