Hi all,
Ok car is 10 years old this year and has covered just over 100,000 miles (clutch has done about 68,000 as has a warranty claim before the car got to 3 years old).
Daily drive for the past 2 years has been town driving stop start in traffic at peak times.
Changing gear with normal driving isn’t a problem and is as smooth as ever, but if I give it then beans and venture in VTEC it can, for a short while be more difficult to engage gear.
It goes in ok, but can sometimes be met with a little resistance.
Also, when in VTEC and then changing gear, a funny smell always appears in the cabin. It’s sort of like a burning smell.
At first I thought maybe it was some unburnt fuel, but now I’m not so sure.
How can I tell if the clutch needs replacing because I’ve read that it doesn’t generally slip like most others?
The bit point on the pedal is also about 1-2inches from the floor. It’s never been adjusted.
