205 V 215

Hi, I’m stuck on what tyre size to get next, I’m about to order a set of AD08R and not sure to go with 205,45,17 or 215,45,17 I see a lot of people with 215s so my question is what is the reason behind this and should I stay with OEM tyre size or go 215

Cheers

When I got my CTR it had Toyo T1R's 215/40s on it, it was a right pain with tramlining and following HGV ruts on motorways, to me it feel just a bit too twitchy at the front

I swapped them all out for the correct size 205/45's all round and the tramlining and the slight twitchy feeling disappeared, ride quality marginally improved, however, I have noticed grip is slightly reduced

I've fitted AD08 R's 215/40/17 for 2 years now and they're great - going to 215 gives a minuscule of more tread on the road & 40's give it a more aggressive stance i think , I get no traml-lining or twitchyness but Toyo's are better tyres.
