2005 Cosmic Grey EP3 Type R

A quick visit to Honda earlier and the new mats, antenna and front badge are ordered.

Upon further inspection it appears both rear badges require replacement too.

I plan to keep this thread updated as work on the car takes place and a few small jobs were carried out this evening.

Earlier today there was a welcome delivery from Honda who brought the new parts out to me.

The antenna was quickly replaced, as it appears to have been chewed by an animal at some point.

Next was the floor mats including the drivers side securing bracket. I gave the carpet a going over with a soft brush and the vacuum but it actually required very little work as the car is very clean inside.

What a huge difference new mats can make and at only £53, money well spent.

While I was vacuuming I also brushed the alcantara parts of the seats which proved to be harbouring dust and I also used some koch chemie interior cleaner, to bring up the interior plastics. It feels a lot better now it's cleaner, sitting behind the wheel.

Here are a few photos to accompany the above.

I managed to set aside some time tonight to give the Civic it's first wash in my care.

I started by using some Bouncers' 'it's all white' snowfoam, followed by a wash with 'slick Mick' shampoo and finally a spray with 'Bead juice' hydrophobic sealant.

It's come up nicely but needs a good clay bar and a light polish with a machine to really bring it up.

There are also a few minor dings that need to be removed and also all 4 wheels need their faces refurbished.

Next up will be rocker cover, refurbish wheels, new centre caps and headlight polish.

Thanks both.

It's what I would describe as a lovely example. Just the little things like no damage to the interior, marks on the headlining and a matte leather steering wheel make a big difference.

After a long winter I've started restoring the Type R in preartion for the spring. First jobs are to refresh the wheels and paint the front bumper as it had a few marks on it I wasn't happy with.

Next up will be to install new front foglights, refurbish the rocker cover and have a couple of small dents removed.

The wheels pictured above are just so the car could be moved while the standard wheels are away for refurb.

Out of interest, where (and how much) did you get the fogs? Mine are corroded inside and it's been an annoyance since I got the car.

Hi Mike

I was given them when I bought the car so I'm hoping they are the right fitment. I'll hopefully find out this weekend.

I noticed that 'Honda Civic Spares EP3 Type R' on Facebook has some of the foglamps.
