K100 chip question

Messages

If I bought a second hand ecu that had a K100 chip, can I remove the chip and plug it into my ecu? Is it plug and play?

A k100 is a sub board in the Ecu which tells it where to look for the mapping data.

Nothing is stored on the k100. A tuner uses a k Pro to write the map to the ecu, then fits the k100 to tell the stock ecu which map to use.

You can use another ecu with a k100 installed, but you'd need to sync the immo/keys which honda or a few tuners can do I believe. Tdi North can I'm fairly sure.

No you can’t. A connector has to be soldered into the ECU to be able to connect the K100/KPRO.

Sorry gents, I read it as an ECU with a K100/KPRO fitted, in which it would be plug & play, i.e. swap ECU, (assuming same mods ) sorry for misunderstanding....
