New tyres

To be honest I’m all set to return them. Although spacers does seem a quick fix, seems crazy to save 3kg in wheel mass then put back weight in spacer...

Tegiwa sell these in 18s on their site and list them both in their fk2 and fk8 sections,
Same with factory alloys both listed in each section

No, as has been said don't weigh much plus Phil from dream said handling, torque steer not affected

Dream only do 15, 20 and 25 actually

struggling to find 5mm...!

Get 25, bolt straight on, no grinding

Strange, the oem are 8.5 wide with et60 offset. Must be dropping two inches and spoke position.

Rimstock accepts they might have got their calculations wrong.
They're sending me some 'approved' 5mm spacers to try while they manufacture me another set of wheels (may take months).
I'm still to be convinced...

I had the same issue on my Elise (also with Team Dynamics wheels) when I found the rear offset was out. previous owner had bought ET38 wheels for the Elise with a Toyota engine built from 2004 onwards, while my Rover engine car was still built until 2005 had a different ET20 offset. pics here and how I measure to find out I had Toyota wheels on my Rover.

quite likely when previous owner placed the order they said 2005 Elise and this ended up with Rimstock sending Toyota offset wheels.

this page kinda confirms ET60 fitment is needed on a 8.5J (8.5 inches) width wheel on a 20" diameter wheel for the FK8.

if you select on the same page the FK2 you can see also ET60 for the 8.5J wheel on a 19" diameter - ET55 is listed but only for a 9J (9 inch width) wheel. So looks indeed like a Rimstock foo here from your shipping docket...they've built you wheels with ET55 but only a 8.5J RIM meaning you're fouling the caliper by approx 5mm hence the spacer.

I'd be asking for spacer to get you through this winter, but then have them you send new wheels (and tyres) when they are ready and they can take back your current winter worn wheels and spacers.

all this makes you realise the width of the fag paper that must just about be able to fit between the wheel and the caliper. eek! (<5mm tolerances)
