Jimbo's JDM Bugeye Impreza STI

Nice car I have a jdm blobeye did you get it from hurst cars

No they didn't have a decent bugeye in stock at the moment or I might have gone to them.
they had some nice JDM blobs, but i personally prefer the bug and unequal headers,
Although I bet that extra torque at bottom end from the twin scroll comes in handy

Twin scrolls are good, but get with that Garret Gen2 GTX, then witness the fitness that is spool from nowhere!!

Hmm only an hour labour charge when swapping the VF30 on the EJ207.
Straight swap, just needs mapping..

Give it some thought when i'm used to the power and we have dry roads again.

The lag can be fun at the same time though. Blipped the throttle mid corner yesterday being used to NA power delivery and nothing happened :p

I went in a Supra down at JDM Garage with one of the newer Gen2's in it. Nearly 900bhp at the wheels and it was making full boost by 3750rpm!! It was like being in a rocket ship, I've never felt anything accelerate like that did. The only thing I can compare it to, is when you take off in a plane and it pins you into the back of the seat. Just sheer brutality. I'm glad my mate Paul was driving as this thing just wanted to missile us towards the nearest ditch and an early grave, even with 19x13's on the rear and sticky drift spec tyres

Nice! Looks clean, just keep an eye on the oil level as low oil kills them quickly but otherwise should be good fun when it snows!

Yes i've also heard to be careful filling oil to max line when cold, as they have a min, max and a notch somewhere in between, notch is for cold to avoid going over full when hot.

need to do a little more reading on that though.

Just placed an order through Opies for 5L plus 3x1L bottles of 5-40w Fuchs.
Also an oil filter.

Oil was last done in June by a Subaru specialist and used a premium 10-60w which is only really recommended on highly modified / track only due to being like treacle.

Subaru and opies say 5-40w is ideal for lightly modified road going car.

I know whats in it, but that is too thick especially on cold starts in this weather

Bugger. You should have said bud, our team gets discount from Opie as they sponsor the drift cars.

May have to give you a shout soon as it won't be long before I'm ordering oil for changes in both EP3's and spare.

Still has that flat four / unequal header rumble. Yes just revs that bit further.

Not that I have needed those revs yet

Nice you got anymore plans for it

Mostly Maintenance for now.

Going to remove the turbo timer
(although does have some other nice features, but wont really use them and relocating the timer is a PITA)

Fan timer can stay as its great, also auto sprays the inter cooler at set temps with different patterns

Brake pads aren't up to my standard for 4pot brakes.. So not decided on which upgraded pads yet.

Oil separator / catch can is quite high on the list though!

Then I will be looking at getting it mapped again next year, it hasn't been mapped since new fuel pumps put on.
Would like a switchable map set up too.

A more sensible map for commuting.
A weekend map with maybe some pops and bangs added.
A track map with no pops and bangs

A discussion to have with tuner next year on any other mods that may help cooling and reliability.

Also looking at sway bars, coil overs and silicone hose sets.

The list keeps growing. But brakes and oil separator/catch can are next prioity mods.

Wont be going for ds2500 I can confirm that.

not spending stupid money for track pads either, as I probably wont see the track for at least 16 months.

Although been invited to Blyton, March/April ish next year.

I keep hearing good things about EBC Bluestuff NDX though.
Very similarly priced to the Carbone Lorraine RC5+

Alot of people using the performance friction brake pads in the Subaru circles but they seem on par with the ds2500's.

The Pagid RS29 are nearly £300 for the fronts.

Still unsure, but lines and fluid are going to be a must.
