Been a long time lurker on here and finally thought I should give something back.

All started back in 2010 when I bought my first Type R, a millano red FN2. It was my daily drive and didn't really know what I was doing. Inspired by Loxy's original FN2, I did the usual bolt on's and Tdi North stage 1 cams.

End result was a bit dissapointing and I ended up selling it.

Replaced it with a boring daily drive (Toyota avensis) and a DC5

I then started talking to the owner of a certain white turbo DC5 who was thinking of selling his. I ended up selling mine with the intention of buying the turbo DC5, wasn't meant to be as he changed his mind.

I ended up in an FN2 turbo instead. I belive it was Tdi North's first production turbo.

After a couple of track days at Silverstone and Donnington, I ended up selling. It just wasn't suited to track work. Great on the road but got too hot on track and the screamer pipe got me black flaged.

This was replaced with my current car and hopefully a keeper, a milano red DC5.

12 hour round trip to Chelmsford to pick it up. It was totally standard and the plan was to keep it standard and learn how to drive properly.

First mod was a bride seat, followed by arc intake, 70mm rbc, solid fab manifold and 3 inch exhaust, kpro4, baffle sump and a map from EFI Parts.

Then came suspension and wheels. Went for YCW custom coilovers and some rota fighters (apologies to the purist). Also went down the staggered 255/225 setup just to see what it was like rather than knowing what I was doing.

Thats all upto date now. I'll carry on updating if you deem the car worthy.

All credit to Grinspeed and EFI parts for sorting the car out for me.

Going forward the cars booked in for a 5.8 final drive and a plated m factory diff.

Also booked onto a spa track day with circuit days in march, first time for me, hoping for it to go smoothly and to bring it back in one piece.

As for mods, that's it, seat time and driver training is the priority.... and maybe a brake kit once I've learned to drive.

Yes I got it from Bristol. I didn't know you wanted it. I think the new owner has broken it and is selling the bits.

I bought the kpro from CPL Racing. Put my ecu in the post and a couple of days later CPL returned it with a kpro fitted.

Anything you wish you knew before the first time you went across? Any tips for the ferry, driving in Europe etc?

Also noticed circuit days require you to have a fire extinguisher, how have you mounted this?
 
They never ask for the fire extinguisher. It’s a pretty relaxed environment with circuit days.

Where are you staying ?
 
Depending on where you live, the eurotunnel is the quickest and most convenient option. Just drive on the right hand side of the road and buy a generic AA euro travel bag thing.
 
Oh hello.

You can get an extinguisher that fits in the glovebox, it's what I do. I would definitely recommend having one although as said, CD don't really check.
