The crank pulley had come apart:-(

Hi everyone, I’m trying to figure out what is the best option to do, my ep3 which has been sitting in front of the parking for few months, one day I had a very cold start, just as usual, engine crank and starts up, in the meanwhile I notice aux belt wasn’t rotating, and in second, smoke and burning smell comes. I quickly switched off the engine, and doing the inspection by looking around the belt. What I found the old crank pulley come 2 parts now, can’t believe they glued the unit not in one piece from Honda. If I can take a picture I will do, I need to crank bolt come off to change the crank pulley I believe which isn’t very good job by myself, I’ve try to used click mechanic.com but today they just said to me they have to cancel my request due to couldn’t find any mechanic and part to do the job. Sound very useless. What is your idea guys. Please drop me some suggestions. I’ll appreciate it.

Is enough of it still there that the 50mm hex still exists so you can lock up the crank?

If so then you'll need Honda Part No. 07MAB-PY3010A - I had issues finding one without contacting Honda directly, but you could make do with something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sealey-Crankshaft-Pulley-Holder-Tools/dp/B003610OIS

Given that, the removal should be relatively simple. You'll need a replacement bolt, a heavy torque wrench, and the new pulley (or just hand it to a specialist you can afford to get the car to).

Hi, thanks for this, it seems I could order from eBay? I think one is around £80? Having seems a video has exactly same problem, the mechanic useinf JB weld sort of glue this things back together, been thinking if a few quit can bring her back on the road first, then drive it to specialist to get it replaced, but will the JB weld good enough don’t you think?

I'm with Partyvan on this one. If you can't deal with it in place, don't bodge it, just get it transported.

Personally not sure how much and where to go for with this car transportation, I’m in Essex, nearest garage I would go may be TGM?

Tgm are a good choice, they're very busy though I believe so maybe a few weeks to wait.

The car isn’t my daily, so waiting for few weeks shouldn’t be too sad. Just need to know how much to transport this to there..

Best bet is speak to some local recovery firms. I have a friend who does it on the side, but he's in Dorset so the miles will add up a bit too much for you I think.

I just meet a mechanic from where I work, and have chat with him, he will go there and replace the crankshaft pulley for me, hope isn’t too difficult to break lose the pulley bolt. :)
