not driven the car since the gearbox was put in and final drive needed the geo set up again ,but as im having coilovers fitted this week I did bother having had to do it twice ,cant wait to to start using the thing

well it went for it last bits of stuff to be fitted yesterday ,so coilovers baffled sump and rear arb are fitted ,pitcures to follow .

Hey, have you tried your new brakes on track yet?? Really interested in hearing your feedback on them when you do (track wise).

booked on to donington and oulton in September ,was just for suspension to go on which it has now ,I shall report back ,but going on from my last aps on my skoda that was a heavy lump and they was superb .

Awesome thanks mate, I am at Donny late August and tried pbs etc but those APs do look like the business - I’ll be getting brake upgrade before Xmas this year and it’s between those and the K sport kit - if you recommend them after your track day that’s my decision made as I don’t mind paying the extra dollar if they are truly immense (and not horrible to live with on the road).

Also be interested to know how ‘loud’ they are for day to day - which rotors you gone for? The c hooks look ace but heard they are noisy?

on the road they are awesome ,all all the touring cars etc use them so are proven but I will let you know how they fair .

Looking great! Can you please tell me what a baffled sump is, and what it does? My english falls short sometimes :)

Last edited by a moderator:
baffled sump ,during hard corning or prolonged cornering the oil goes from side to to side and not in the middle where the pick up is ,baffled sump keeps the oil in the middle of the pan at all times so there is always a feed to keep the engine lubricated ,some say you may need it some don't but I had a engine fail this way so I will do it it .

if I have said this wrong im sure someone could explain better .

Nah, it's absolutely understandable, thanks. In the meantime I looked up some info on what it does, and it is exactly as you said.

the car is booked onto donington and oulton in September really looking forward to seeing how the car performs to my clio come say hello if anyone is there .

Cars finished now cleaned and put away now ready for two track days in September

report from first day at donington ,car performed faultlessly all day ,as a road car with all the suspension and stuff done it was perfectly planted and still quick enough to upset a few folks ,felt a little lardy so being stripped out would make it turn in a feel a lot better but I don't want this again .
the ap brakes with ds2500 pad were faultless all day 20 minutes out there its enough for the pads again 90%is road but faultless ,yeloowspeed coilovers turned the fronts up 12 clicks and rear 6 cand with the rear arb was perfect ,diff worked well ,so next is oulton park

Something a little different folks may like it or not ,I like it and it’s so easy to keep clean .
I had my scuttle dipped

That's quite tidy. Do you have any pictures of what it was like before it went on (mostly so I can see how the cut/install of the scoop would fit compared to the butchery that goes on with the OEM one)?

What diff do you have? Really like this car:cool:

I like your scuttle as well, it's not something I have seen or though of before.
