All,
Hope you are all well and hopefully someone can help…
1st Problem:
Since last October when I start my car in the morning, I can’t get the gear into reverse straight away. It feels like the gear is stuck when trying to pull down into reverse. I don’t want to force it into place.
To get it into reverse, once I’ve started the car, I put it into 3rd gear (No Problem) and then put the gear into reverse and it goes in. The clutch pedal is held down only once during this entire transition.
I have been doing that since last Oct till this day. I can’t understand why this is happening. Some people mention it’s because the gearbox oil is cold, or the gearbox linkages are causing this issue….or in fact the gearbox oil needs replacing with a different grade…
Note: Even when the car has done a 15 mile motorway journey, it still sometimes doesn’t slip nicely first time into reverse…..
2nd Problem:
At the traffic lights I tried to put the gear into first but wouldn’t go all the way in and stopped half way! I had to put it into 2nd (No problem) and then into 1st again and only then it went in. Again, the clutch pedal is held down only once during this entire transition. This has happened only 3 times in the 8 months I’ve had the car.
This happened when I had done a 40 mile motorway journey and had parked the car for about an hour, started the car, drove about 5 miles, town and a bit of motorway.
Again god knows why this is happening.
Anyone had similar issues?? I know there is a thread on this but it doesn’t mention gear changes in reverse.
I have nearly had my 2015 FK2-R for 8 months. The winter gone has been my 1st winter driving it and its done about 14k miles on the clock.
Appreciate the help ta
