EP3 Skunk2 Megapower R Install help

Messages

Hi guys I’ve just managed to win a skunk 2 megapower R catback system for £150 of eBay .

I’m planning to fit it to my 2002 Ep3 myself but i need some help as I have never done an exhaust install.
Will the exhaust fit straight onto the cat as I’ve heard problems of the holes being different diameters?
Will I need gaskets or spacers?
Also can anyone who has installed one in the past tell me what they needed to install it and what problems they encountered.

Cheers

I remember trying to fit one to mine. Depends on the diameter on the Skunk2. Think they come in 3" and 2.5"

Hi there, I have this exhaust and fitted it following this thread on here.

I would advise getting new gaskets, bolts and nuts. Also between the flanges / gaskets put lots of exhaust gasket paste on all over the gasket. Such as the below,

Once the exhaust is fitted you will more than likely get vibration on the chassis, this will be on the section just after the triangle cat flange, easiest way to fix this is get some exhaust heat wrap and fold it up into a tight roll and wedge this in between where it nearly touches. Sounds overkill but it works. I wrapped my front section like below which also stops the kettling effect.

Hope this helps, cheers
