N77’s new R

I think estate versions often look nicer. but that is just me. I kept looking at them when I bought my Leon even though I was supposed to go smaller

Carl, golf looks lovely bud. Cannot wait to sort mine once I have finished throwing crap out the front, no point when I will just cover it in dust. No rush either, got to keep myself busy :D

Here you go Mark, is it a bad shape if you won this one haha

So a little quick swap over now I have finished modifying it to fit it.

So continued with the cleaning side of it...

So inside the rear arches and the nasty rusted discs, even though it’s not that old, so decided to tidy it up.

Discs and surrounding masked or covered, wire wheel and then etch primer, and then VHT paint.

Gave it a couple of coats of primer and then base, loads said you don’t need to cover discs but I preferred to do majority, as it could transfer on to the pads, little bits maybe, but didn’t take any chances.

All finished and cleaned inside the rear arch, it also has the carpet like wells, so hovered those.

Couldn’t put the wheels back in without giving them some attention either, so they we’re throughly cleaned, clay bar’d and polished before sealing them, and then refitted.

Back to how they should be haha

Next.... need to do the same on the front

Front now done too

While the wheels were off I did inside the arches as well, won’t be like this for long once it gets used, but hey it maybe easier to clean next time around now it’s treated.

So again while the wheels were off I throughly cleaned them, clay bar’d, polished and sealed. Will get them freshly powder coated though in the near future as well.

Got to be as clean on the inside as the outside in my opinion

Wheels fitted back on and all painted, cleaned and ready to get dirty again

Next job is to clay bar the car ready for a machine polish and then some ceramic coating, which I plan to do this week, provided it’s not too sunny.

I also have a couple of things that have been delivered to try and fit as well, nothing major just some subtle changes

Forgot to update this...

So the car was cleaned, decontaminated and clay bar’d prior...

I had not long cleaned it and removed tar spots and fall out remover, car was used for a couple of short journeys and left outside the rest of the time, so it just shows what crap gets on it just sitting there...

Autobrite Direct Purple Rain doing its magic, used a whole bottle on the car

After all this and the clay bar process I proceeded to machine polish it...

After that it’s come up okay, couple of scratches a little too deep to polish out, so going to have a go with a mixture of ChipEx and Halford chip repair kit, to touch in some bits before the next stage...

Tucked away in the garage to protect it...

The next part is to touch in the paint chips etc... then it will be panel wiped and then Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light applied, again garages for it to cure and then a top coat of Gtechniq Evo v2 as well.

I also have Gtechniq glass sealant and interior fabric protecter as well, but need to give the interior a going over first before that

Also busy drawing on my iPad Pro, if you don’t follow me on Instagram or friends on Facebook then you may not have seen them, but this is one I did of my Golf.

I also did one for a YouTuber (CalvinsCarDiary’s) and he subsequently posted it on his Instagram so did get a few more requests to do others as well, so kept me occupied.

Also did a collection of cars from another Youtuber that they have rebuilt as well, Goonzquad.

These guys are awesome and enjoy the content they make, so was blown away after they have asked me to do one of the current build they are doing at the moment, a Jeep Grand Cherokee Track Hawk, which are over 700bhp for an SUV

Go check out my Instagram @n77jones if you want to have a look at any others or if you want to give me a follow...

May not be any more once I’m back at work, but quite addicted doing them at the moment

I think it’s what the “scene” kids do. I think it translates to “sick” as in siccccck car maaaaaan.

It’s actually an ancient Hawaiian signal meaning all is okay or hello depending on the situation.

It’s got nothing to do with “scene” kids

Did you ever fit an induction kit? A lot on the TT forum seem against fitting one, saying it will do nothing. I've got the pipercross panel filter but a Ramair kit is arriving today. I have the EA888 engine in my car.
