2017 Volkswagen Golf R, as it’s the Mk 7.5 it has the virtual dash, newer stereo system, redesigned front and new rear lights, also it’s 310ps, so around 307bhp :) and this has the upgraded 19s and panroof.

Already looked at DTUK as it’s still under manufacturers warranty, so have to wait until that’s done, then I will be looking at other stuff :)

Do have a couple of things I want to get for it but nothing extravagant, a couple of little touches...

I do plan on doing a couple of track days so will be getting some track wheels rather than the 19s, and making use of Greenlight’s track day insurance all being well :)

Looks like a nice bit of kit! How does the dsg feel when giving it some beans? Must be a big change from the civic I'm sure.

Very nice car! :smt023

Heard lots of bad things with regards to DTUK on the Seat forums. They throw EMLs on for fun apparently.

You would be much better advised to look at a JB4 if you are looking at a plug in system. JB4 incorporates the ODB port and give the box live data from the ECU rather than blindly raising boost and fuel pressure.

Congrats on the purchase. I am surprised you went for one actually, especially since you come from an EP3, do you not find it very numb/dull feeling?

I know they are fast as hell, loved the MCM episodes and the general aesthetic but during my own test drive of one I could see how it would work out as a Daily, but not as a fun car.

I shall follow this thread regardless :)

I still have the one Civic (although broken at the moment lol)

I am trading in my Passat for this, which has a DSG box, as well as selling the track Civic.

I have been really impressed with the DSG, smooth gear changes and even more so on the drive I have been on in the Golf so far, don’t pick it up till later this week, but perks of the job working at the place it’s at haha

This shows how out of touch with the new world of motoring I am - this is the first 3 door Golf R I’ve seen, despite having a VW garage where I live.

Nice choice Carl, enjoy and hope it gives you many miles of trouble free motoring

Woohoo collection day

And the mods are already arriving

That's a great start!

I hope you're enjoying it. I'm sure this will be kept squeaky clean, for the last of the half decent weather anyway.

Just collected, the car its replacing next to it.

It took longer than I thought so it will be home and in the garage until next week when I'm back

All back home with a takeaway on the way back, tucked up (just about) in a garage for safe keeping until I'm back

Plate assigned and a new shorter 4D one added.

Need to try and sort something at the front though, as the holes show from the plate holder. I have put some rubber bungs in at the moment so looking at some other solutions.

Put some new indicators in at the front as well, they are the smoked Dynamic ones so match with the rears better.

So thought today I would finally get to fit my Maxton front splitter, no such luck...

I had a well deserved lie in this morning so didn’t really get started until this afternoon, which was my mistake haha

Got it in place and drilled a couple of holes that line up with existing mounting points, not a problem.

It was when I came to do the extra holes that I couldn’t get in to fit the washer and nut on the bolts

So I have had to take it off as I will not have time to secure it, so will have to be another day....

Hopefully what it will look like when I can secure it properly.

I find the mk 7.5 bumper styled much better but it just lacks something along the bottom, which this gives it.

Can you not just get a full length 4D plate so the holes are covered without much fuss ?
