FK8 Insurance ...

Admiral Multi Car policy.
30yr driving, no claims, protected
Porsche, Clio 200, CRV EX
£540

Brentacre Insurance, Very good for mods, no increase for any of mine.
£450 with protected NCB, age 50, clean license, I have a kinda GAP insurance thing going with Adrian Flux £55 per year and they pay out an extra 25% of what your main policy pay out if the car is a right off.
Some insurance companies refused me outright when they heard the OL10 bit of my postcode.

Just renewed mine £530 with admiral, exhaust, filter and remap declared. No increase for adding alloys too when I do these later in the year. Tried Adrian flux and greenlight but came out more expensive with higher excess.

We're £290 for the CTR, went up over £100 as I had a claim and hit a car park barrier. Still kept the protected NCD but they always get you in the end.

Was going to test drive a Fiesta ST today (second car) but called it off. There must be some issue insuring them as they want an additional £449 for 9 months above the £177 we already pay for our current car. that's nuts!

Fiesta St is one of the most stolen cars out there, the keyless entry is easy to access and thieves are in the car, less than 30 seconds.

Thanks for that. Did some research and it seems they have sort of fixed the problem with the 2020 model, but unfortunately insurers still class them all as one car hence the high price. Axa must have had a lot of claims on them.

Apparently trying specialist insurers like Adrian Flux might help, but I'll still lose £50 if I have to cancel the Axa policy.

Not to mention they're probably the most popular hot hatch for the young 20s boy racer!

We have one which the wife uses daily, living in the Lakes the risk of theft is quite limited. Fantastic car though, I love going out in it especially now the seating position has been tweaked the old version used to be a killer on my back for whatever reason.

Given up on the ST at the moment. I got some other quotes and they were all over £500. I had a chat with a couple of specialist insurers and the bottom line is the ST has a terrible reputation for being stolen by neds and crashed, hence the "high risk" category.

Back to the Seat Mii, 0-60 in around a week. Makes driving the FK8 even more special when the wife lets me borrow it.
