FN2 VTEC Rev counter

Messages

Hi,just bought my fn2 and I noticed the v-tec counter on my top left of my dash next to my speedo doesn’t read the v-tec revs. When I come to turn the engine on the counter flicks up then down as if it will work but doesn’t . Any one else have this problem and is it an expensive fix ?

Is it turned on in the options menu?
I ha e tried looking for the option to turn it on. I can’t seem to find it . Iv held the I button down to get options up there are 5 options but I can’t seem to find Rev counter option ... would any one happen to know what option it is .... thanks again for any help

If you are talking about the row of red lights in top left by rev counter these should come on and go out when you start the car.
They should then come back on in sequence as the revs get close to the red line, they are there to warn you so you don't have to look down at the tacho and take your eyes of the road.

They are nothing to do with hitting vtec, that's the single red light on the right hand side which is turned off/on in the options menu.

I had this problem about a year ago, Turned out i had an issue with the tensioner and belt and got them replaced, Was about £250 repair in total. Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot guys appreciate the heads up I guess I’ll get it sorted when I take it in for a service and to a Honda specialist .

Shouldn't need a specialist just a garage you trust, I have a garage in Essex that I used. But I ran for a couple of weeks until sorted. Just sounded off and no vtech

Hi wedders,
I think I've got the same issue as you if I've read it correct. When you start the car the top left rev lights turn on and then off. When I drive the car, going up the revs the lights do not come on dot by dot. However the vtec light on opposite side does come on when engaged.
