Suspension for beginners

Yes exactly, they had (for some unknown reason) adjusted the front coilovers higher than the rear two - resulted in the car wondering all over the place when you put your foot down. That's all sorted now, got the front down and it handles fine ;)

This post was a while ago but. ....I'm having problems with my car pulling and wondering all over the place when I put the foot down! Could this be because the ride heights are not correct? Should the front of the car be lower than the rear?
Thanks

Ideally yes. You don't want the weight of the car on the rear as it will squat down coming out of corners and you'll lose grip on the front quicker.

Likewise with your setup, under load on acceleration, you don't want the front to be light. Having the rear lower than the front is for aesthetics only really. We're not talking huge differences, and measure on the coilovers initially not on the arch gaps.

Ah the arch gaps are the same all round. I think I'm going to hand the car to the experts and say.....fix it! Lol

Yeah ill do that. I'm worrying that there's a problem/defect with the MeisterR coilovers. Been reading horror stories about them causing severe pulling side to side. I was experiencing the exact same problems on my last car before I crashed! I think these problems were mainly found on the dc5 though.

I can't say I've heard many bad words said against them on the EP3 and FN2s.

The DC5 ones were redesigned weren't they?

hi does anyone know anywhere that will do a FRSU in teesside newcastle area (tdi north is a bit too far)

almost anywhere that does laser tracking can do it, you just need to give them the specs of what you want.

i took mine to JM Imports when I had my springs, bolts, and bush kit fitted, and they took it to Revolutions in Newcastle for the FRSU who are suspension specialists IIRC

Hi Bowman, thanks i will go there, i have just ordered camber bolts and camber arms, which bush's are you talking about? also how much is safe to lower by, was thinking just 20mm front and back.

hi, just as a ball park figure what do you think i should be paying to fit springs camber arms and bolts along with a frsu for labour (me to supply)

I got charged £400 by JM Imports which included the FRSU I believe, but also included the bush kit, which I presume would be a fair chunk of that. It would be worth popping them an email mate as I would only be guessing

Hi , I'm after dropping my fn2 around 30mm can I just fit springs or do I need shims also ? Thank you if I need shims then why ? If not what's the best springs going for around £160 thank you

Shims are for the Fast Road Setup.

Springs wise, Eibach Pro Kit which is 15mm drop is the best for the FN2.

Suspension

The majority of people go for the "fast road setup".

The settings are:

1 degree neg camber all round
2mm toe in at rear
1mm toe out at front

Hi All,

Booking into EuroSpec to get an FRSU completed, as well as a few other bits. I sent these settings to Ben @ EuroSpec and he said that they aren't the normal settings they would recommend. He said I can choose what they set the car at, and so with that in mind I was hoping to get some FRSU setting feedback so I can basically understand what I should be asking for!

The car is 99% every day, and occasionally (maybe twice/three times a year) going on a track.

Cheers all,

Benn0.

Hi guys, Can anyone recommend a good reliable garage in the West Sussex area. I want to get some lowering springs fitted and FRSu done. Want to know I'm taking to someone who knows what they doing. Thanks.

TGM in Fleet. It's the only place I'd go if I lived in that part of the country.
