FN2 or DC5?

Hey Folks,

Just new to the forums and i find it is very interesting with all the good tips and views on offer so i thought i would ask for your opionions on this....

My dad and i were looking for a new car, and my best mate is a specilist honda mechanic so he has advised us to go for vtec which i wouldnt disagree about as its probaly the best N/A engine in the world.

So it is either between the CTR FN2 which i think look stunning or going for a slighter older more powerfull ITR DC5, i would personally say i am more swayed towards the FN2 as it appears to be more luxurious over the ITR.

Only slight problem maybe insurance on the Teg but we got quoted 2400 on the FN2 and im only 19 so i think thats pretty decent.

Any thoughts would be great ;)

Cheers, Del

Without a doubt in my mind I would go for the DC5.

Its more of a drivers car.

I think it pretty much beats the FN2 at everything apart from creature comforts.

However the FN2 is a newer car and comes with the benifits associated with that.

Being as young as you are I would suggest the DC5, it will be more suited to your lifestyle and expenses I would say. Insurance will kill you though as its a group 20 due to it being a import.

i've driven the CW FN2 but not the DC5. I would still go for the DC5.

I really liked that, the thought of one on proper spings, FRSU, TODA header and GM is a very good thought.

I'd still go for the DC5 though  .

Are you insane?

lol well being 19 its ok i suppose, 2500 is my limit though, you have an FN2? what would you go for DC5 or the FN2, a lot of other people are saying the DC5 :-s is it really that good?

Also whats the insurance companies for the ITR because it would have to be a specialist insurer because its an import, is that right?

I have an EP3 and a DC5 now, I have test driven the FN2 and it is nowhere near as involving to drive or responsive as the DC5 I would stick with that and with the money you save in buying one you can pay for insurance and a couple of choice mods and still have change

EP3 now. You're going to have to spunk your money on insurance, so you might as well save a bit on buying the car. Early EP3's are going for as little a 4.5K now.

Otherwise, DC5 all day long. I am biased though.

between those two, without a doubt DC5

since your 19, get an EP3

btw, I'd rather have an EP3 over an FN2

DC5 just for a more focused car all round.... BUT not at your age. i would like see a DC5 insurance quote if your getting £2400 on an FN2.

yess the FN2 has the creature comforts and is very nice to look at. but it seems to sway away abit from the idea of a typr R in my opinion.

I'd say Fcuk it..... go all out & get an NSX :p

19 you say, really you should be buying a Civic Vti, loads of fun, alot cheaper to insure & cheaper to buy initially..But if money is no matter then FD2
