Which Type R with the K20 engine is lightest?

After reading so many articles which all give completely different dimensions, Im curious to know which car with the K20 engine is the lightest?

The thing is there are so many varients e.g. EP3 EDM pre lift/face lift, JDM, Integra DC5 phase 1 and 2, FN2 Civic Type R, Mugen, ect ect.

May seem like a silly question but I want to get a type R with the K20 engine with the lightest chassis.

If you are going silly get a Lotus Elise with a K20 conversion...

There's a 'Lightweight Version' of the JDM EP3 - that might be lighter than the DC5? But just guessing based on the 'Lightweight' attached to the edition.

(JDMEP3CIVIC - I think's his username has one on here - it's the Milano Red with the SSR Type-C RS')

DC5 is 1160 KG's as far as I'm aware thats the lightest. So that is around 200bhp per tonne! Trust me you will not be dissapointed!

DC5

Kerb weight 1170 kg + 216bhp = 184.62 bhp/ton

UK EP3

Kerb weight 1270 kg + 197bhp = 155.12 bhp/ton

JDM EP3

Kerb weight 1190 kg + 212bhp = 178.15 bhp/ton

FN2

Kerb weight 1301 kg + 198bhp = 152.19 bhp/ton

FD2

Kerb weight 1270 kg + 222bhp = 174.8 bhp/ton

In summary, the DC5 is the lightest and on paper the most powerful. In real world terms though, the FD2 is the best handling and performing car out of the bunch.

In the FN2s defence Paul at TDi-North reckons it consistently gets 208bhp standard so that would be:

Kerb weight 1301 kg + 208bhp = 159.88 bhp/ton

thanks jermal for that info its actually very informative for a potential type r owner. i do agree with you on the fd2 being faster. its the culmination of honda's efforts on the type r's over the last 2 decades. there are some very good vids on youtube of the vtec club testing all these cars over 5 laps which shows the differences in them albeit a small differenec sometimes!

Ok cheers for that, was very useful, it just confuses the hell out of me because mags such as EVO say the DC5 is 1250kgs and the EP3 is 1204kgs!

So according to this site the highest BHP/Ton figure is the Civic Type R FD2 Mugen RR is the highest placed Honda with a K20 engine.
