Supersprint B-Pipe .. Yes or No

I was looking to upgrade the exhaust but not looking for the noise. Having a read the exhausts that are not to loud but give good gains cost a good whack. I heard that keeping standard B box and header with after market B- pipe also gives good gains and isn't to loud. If this is the case would you recommend supersprint?

So are we saying there will be very little gain and why bother? Recommend forking out? I just don't like big bore thus why I was looking to keep standard back box

I got a Supersprint Silenced B Pipe, when I had it mated with an OEM backbox, the noise was slighty deeper and the throttle response was a bit better (Maybe in my head though)..

I am now mated it to a supersprint backbox and its even deeper!!

To get the best out of the mod, I would recommend a K100 or KPRO.

The gains will be minimal (maybe 5bhp max) as the header and cat are the most restrictive parts of the ep3 exhaust system. It will make it a little louder on WOT

Here's my car with a custom unsilenced 2.5" bpipe with a stock backbox

Shaeni, you got a Legalis R catback now? did you 222bhp just from catback and intake?

Different car with the Hondata?

@ Devil84 - already posted on the ECU thread, I'm 900 mile round trip! I'd have to find somewhere really good to take the mrs if i drove down

I know you did mate, I am just saying what the B Pipe would give and that a retune (whether its down south at Eurospec or TDI north) would bring the best out of the mods.

Take the Mrs down to London mate for a romantic weekend; job done! :)

So wouldn't notice anything really from the SS B-pipe. Is this due to the brand or standard back box?

Your CTR sounds good, even had the mrs saying that sounds better than Supersprint! Think she is just saying that as she's after my bank card for a
Shopping spree!!

Yes you would gain from a b pipe change and subsequent tune, the most restrictive parts on the exhaust system is the header and B pipe.

backbox is good for 300bhp

B Pipe without tune gives a deeper noise and a more raspy noise if their is no silencer. The performance gains is marginal...

You wouldn't notice much as in gains because of the OEM header and cat, they're the most restrictive parts of the exhaust system, you will gain a few ponies with the SS bpipe but like I said it won't be much.

Doesn't sound like that anymore, new catback on now

My car now sounds like this

Yeah new to mods but purely down to this forum it sounds like there's not much point modding unless you remap.

Right I'm having a drink with the mrs so I'll get her drink and take advantage, get her to agree, I'll also mention getting a remap

there is a point to change the intake and b pipe mate, frees up the exhaust flow, so give some gains and sportier note.

and you will get the most out of it once , you guessed it, do a tune.
