FK2 FK2 general discussion

I do love driving my S2k but unless your of over 6k it feels no better than an MX5
but over that and wow it's great to drive and I do mean that

I do miss having the power of my older cars that's why I fancy the new CTR but if
it does work out at 34k+ I'm going for the BMW 235 or save the money and
get an old 2010 model CTR m200 as it was only going to be my winter car

Noo it was nothing to do with he one on top gear, that episode was just pure pants, their was one of the models that i drove which suffered from horrible turbo lag, was like waiting for paint to dry, i'll have to try and find out which model it was

Rotrex the S2000 then.

In some ways I'd love to but I still have a two year warranty left on my S2K from Honda
and that just may mess that up :)
i have fitted a KN kit and UK exhaust mod later I'm going to fit a decat but that's about all
my last Evo I spent around 20k and the one before that maybe 8k and 5 on the supra and
every time I lost it all when I sold the cars on

Must've been something up with it as the ones I've driven never had lag and went like ****!! Rubbish at three point turns mind lol!

Possibly just a crap evo lol, always wanted to own one though just mortgage kills my hopes of one at the mo lol

Lewis your right about the 3 point turn thing I was up The Stelvio Pass with both models and had a few near misses with walls a right nightmare

Haha yea they're terrible to turn aren't they! Would love to own one but soooo thirsty. Fancy a Subaru sti perhaps instead.

Driving hard which is the only way to drive an Evo I would get 14mpg
But on the motor way sat at 80mph ish I once seen 32mpg :0
Not bad for a car which could do 0-60 in 3.5 seconds

The wife's 8 used to average 22mpg but on a run to JAE and back plus extra running about, she managed to get around 35mpg. My X would get 20mpg no matter what. Couldn't better it. SST box wastes the juice.

The FQ360 only came with a manual box and I had a new unrated HKS turbo and Cams
and big injectors and so with that much power on tap and on UK plates out in Germany
it got used some what:)
thats why it took some time to get used to the speed of the S2000
And I'm still not sure about 300+bhp to the front wheels of the Civic
and if it's going to be any good or just go for a slower older model ?

My Evo 8 and 10 both came on boost from 2400rpm unlike my S2k which has no power under 6000rpm
You only get lag below 2400 so you never have to drop a gear

Full boost between 2900 and 3100 rpm. Mapped to boost 0.8 bar in 1st and 2nd and then 1.3 bar from 3rd to 5th.

Here is my old dyno print out even at 3000rpm I had about 225bhp to play with
But at 2400 it really started to pull and would go all the way up to 8k

Yeh older cars like R5 GT turbo and escort rs turbos all had turbo lag, I couldn't see newer cars being to bad nowadays.
