Loxy's Plasma Blue WRX STi Saloon

Classic sti's have forged pistons I know that. A sti is virtually completely different car, suspension, engine, interior. Wrx is virtually bottom spec.

I used to think the same until a Subaru specialist told me pistons and rods in wrx and sti in classics are the same. The difference is better flowing heads and more aggressive cams.

I've finished rebuilding a Catalunya wrx engine with my housemate. First time engine has been opened and it has HF forged pistons which are also found in the V3/V4 STI. It's the heads that are different.

Decat, 3 port boost solenoid, hack saw to the equal length headers and a remap :D

Aye, there is a fair bit that sets them apart. Have a go in them both. The STi, power aside, will feel more special.

I'm desperate for a centre decat, or complete new front cat back and remap but money has been fudging tight since moving house.

Oh I have no doubt. From looking at them, the WRX only has 5 gears, 130mph top end and terrible emissions.

Can't you get a decat fabricated for cheap? I bet it has, I'm going through the process of moving again and I have no funds at all.

None of the 2.5 engines came with forged pistons or rods thanks to the accountants running the shop at Fuji Heavy Industries. :picardfp:

With the exception of the CS400 but I wouldn't class that as a standard car...

And gone...

No drama, unless you had it's rear hanging out on roundabouts or doing silly speeds down country lanes. Gripped and went, pretty much it.

Wow she's gone! I'd like an sti but expensive to run, plus na is just as fun of Honda powered!

They should be called "wepayyou****all.com" as whenever I have tried them they've offered a pittance!

Yeah, £19k is main dealer price with 12 months warranty. It should be up at £18,000-£18,250 really for an independant.

I had it up at £17,500 but would have taken £16,800 sort of thing, basically what I paid for it. Jayne twisted my arm to take the £16k, though looking back it was the right decision.
