Is honda civic type r 2002 Faster than a 2000 Golf turbo

Why are we comparing what is a modified to a standard car? I'm sure toms turbo civic is quicker. Does this help?

Shall we just settle this? The Golf will be quicker off the line as it has the turbo, but you have a longer rev range to play with and when VTec kicks in YO!! you will pull it back slightly. Ultimately both cars are roughly the same in standard guise, it's just the Civic will be a more rewarding drive in the end as it can go round a corner correctly, whereas the Golf is a ditch finder.
