CH1 Euro R CL7 2005 brakes

Messages

My honda accord euro r CL7 will need new disc and pads soon but having difficulty finding parts. Does anyone know if they share the same brakes as any other honda cars? They do look like the Honda ek9 but also similar to dc2's?

Anyone able to help will be much appreciated.

It's a very rare car bud.

Integrastella seems to know a lot on the imports, Google his contact details and drop him an email, then post up what he says for future reference. ;)

Thanks Loxy,

I have found him on ebay and emailed him. Unfortunately he doesn't know as he has never broke one. Lol

Starting to turn into a pain to find performance pads.

CL7 has twin pots with 300X28 discs iirc. Same discs are found on Legend. If Tegiwa doesn`t stock them, check out http://eshop.supergt.com.hk/preview/eng/main.php trusted site, cheap, has almost everything, bit slow communicating though. Then there are these guys from Singapore, more expensive than super GT above http://www.autodynamics-honda.com/index.html and finally this site from the UK but not OEM parts found on here http://www.brakesint.co.uk/

Thanks will start the hunt!

Right, spoken to Andy @ Vtec Direct. Can't get hold or ferodo's which is what I wanted -.- he did say it is possible by grinding another ferrodo pad down to fit. I didn't like the sound of this so decided to look at BBK's.

I think I like the sound of testing out K sports

http://www.hondaperformanceparts.co...Brake_Kit_CL7_CL9_oe_300_5X114_3_6_POT_304mm_

But then there is StopTech

http://www.hondaperformanceparts.co...tech_Big_Brake_Kit_4_POT_CL7_9_5x114_3_328x28

The k sports are smaller disc but 6 pot whereas StopTech is bigger discs and 4 pot. £500 between the two. I have read loads of stuff about BBK's and the difference between the two companies. I want StopTech since they have good tech side but K sport seem to have no issues too apart from their own pads.

K sport is it? Lol (or StopTech?)

Bigger discs will give you better stopping power over two more pistons on the caliper.

Update,

I have received discs and pads for my euro r.

Slight issue with the pads where I will have to grind the top lobes off.

But apart from that they will fit.

Next issues is that the discs I have received are not as thick as my originals. They are roughly about 2-3mm bigger then the originals. Would this make a difference?

Hard to take a photo while disc was on the car. Obviously it will all fit but is it ok?

Also anyone heard of Brem Tech?

My CL7 is not twin pot, it is single pot and has a reference of 17CL16VN. Finding right parts is becoming a headache.

hello if your car is an accord cl7 euro r jdm import.you will have the same brakes as a uk accord type s cl9.and us tsx

They are the same car.just the cl7 euro r has k20 engine, lsd, recaro seats, everything else is the same as uk cl9

look on ebay at accord cl9 brakes, you will find a massive range of brakes to fit your car.

a good brake upgrade is using the calipers and carriers off the accord type r as they are twin pot and are a lot better than the stock brakes

i wanted a cl7 euro r.but the prices in the uk are insane.so ive got a 2.4 type s with ep3 gears 1-5.it goes very well.just needs some more bhp

cl7 in the uk £8k
cl9 same year and milage £3k

hope it helps

Thanks for the help,

Discovered that the pads all round are same as Uk spec DC2 despite the discs on the front are much bigger then the uk spec DC2's.
Fronts changed and rears I will be doing tomorrow.

If anyone does have an euro r and needs part numbers this is what I used on the fronts.

The fronts pads are roughly the same but I did grind two lobes on top to make them fit. See photo below but they do fit and work loads better then stock stuff.
