Why vBulletin?

Hi Chris, admins,

Was there a particular reason you have chosen vBulletin to run the forum on? Versus the free phpBB. :) Just curious.

Cheers,
Han

We originally ran on phpBB, but around 7 years ago we swapped to vBulletin as phpbb was quick frankly awful and full of security holes and every time I needed to upgrade it it was a major headache. At the time vBulletin were the dogs danglies of forum software, though to be fair there wasn't exactly a huge selection!
Unfortunately vBulletin aren't the company they were back then and have let their product slide the last few years, I'm very tempted to switch to Xenforo these days but :effort: and :cost: are currently getting in the way :)
