S2KIP's S2000

Jeez that's even worse than I was expecting - glad you're ok Chris.

As for ctro FB or forum, come on, we all know better than to look these days don't we?! :)

I've just had an offer of £14500 from the insurance company which is much better than I expected and I've accepted it. The initial offer was £10600 however they then asked for all the invoices for the work and parts done on the car which I sent in. I also have around £2000 in parts for it sat in the garage.

I can't commend Greenlight and Highway/LV enough on how they have been throughout the whole claim process.

No bad considering I paid £8000 for it some 20 months ago.

Thats good news. IX inbound then?

I ran a quote last night with a £15000 claim declared on GoCompare and it came in at £625. I think it was around £500 or so without the claim, I can live with that. Age and protected NCB have their benefits!

I assume that price is to include all the mods as well then, still not bad really although I bet you have spent that difference on the mods lol

They offered it back to you yet?

Yes that's the complete settlement. While it sounds a great idea to buy it back, I think it'll be a lot of hassle so I'm going to leave it.

Result Chris! That's a good price to get back, and will cover a decent EVO i would say.

You will be glad that the insurance side is settled and you can look at your next car/project.

I had a quote from Greenlight and will be switching to them after your feedback on how well your claim was handled. :D

Cheers. I think it pays dividends to go with a specialist insurer for modded vehicles. If I modify the Evo as much as I did the S2000, then I'll be going for an agreed value in the future.

Have you enquired what the S2K would cost to buy back?

They only wanted £900 odd for my old car; and had I had the garage space it would definitely have been worth it.
