FD2 or CL7.....Which one?

I know what people are saying about the prices of FD2's and I do kind of agree. Like people have said already, I need to find an FD2 and a CL7 close by and test them both before I can say for definite that this is the car I'm going to go for.

It is a lot of money for a Civic, but then again when you come to sell it may not have depreciated by much. It really all depends on what the car will be used for mainly, so to answer the thread title without suggesting other cars:

Weekend toy/mild usage - FD2
Family car - CL7

IMO of course.

That's the chap that bought Marks S15.

It's a facelift too.

I've been looking on auction sites for FD2 and what I'm finding is the price in UK once landed and prepped goes up by a few thousand. Which ever car I do get eventually will probably be a personal import.

Has anyone had any dealings with import companies? I've had a range of quotes from tradecarview from anywhere between £10000 to £14000 for low mileage FD2's which includes purchase, shipping, insurance. Then I'm guessing when the car lands here I'd have to sort out customs and duty, SVA, DVLA, etc?

Have you signed up on fd2-owners.com?

Worth seeing if theres anyone local to you that'll let you have a good nose and take you for a spin?

I'm still waiting my account to be activated on fd2-owners. I have signed up but I haven't had a confirmation email yet.

I've imported 2 cars and hopefully a third soon.

Having managed to get over to my grandads on the weekend, had a nose around his civic hybrid and I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious it was inside. Putting the drivers seat in my position (back as far as possible and lowered as much as possible) there was actually more room for passengers in the back than in my mondeo estate. And the boot space is not too bad either (hybrid slightly smaller than CTR as batteries behind rear bench). Interior also seemed better quality and well put together against the mondeo as well.

Funnily enough prior to getting the M200 I was seriously considering an ISF. Forums reckon 33mpg on a motorway run, but the servicing costs etc put me off. Plus the amount of power would have had my licence gone in a week!

i m definitely getting one..check on youtube one with joe z!!

just not sure if I want one just yet...maybe when I am 40...

Good choice. FD2's are silly money for essentially an old Civic Type-R.

Blue one looks better IMO.

I don't think accords should have big wings and vented bonnets. Hence why I removed the carbon canards from my CL1.

Keep it smooth and stylish.

Yes totally agree. Stealth is the way to go. Would prefer to invest in good wheels than a massive carbon bonnet/wing. (Maybe a small boot-lip spoiler though...)

Yeah, I'm all about subtle now.

Used to get everyone stare at me in the FD2 in my little home town.

Now people tend to take a double look.
