It will vary between insurers but for us, Channel Islands, Cornwall, Northern Scotland low risk. Bradford, Manchester, Liverpool high risk.

Manchester is a very high risk area for car insurance, let alone performance/modified car insurance. Comparable to some Southern postcodes through.

The prices represent the risk. I'd say £2900 is cheap for a 21 year old with no NCB in Manchester.

I blame the industry to be honest, the industry facilitates the illegal claimers. It's one big merry go round, although I don't find it overly merry.

Absolutely, it's fantastic for those shopping around. Price is key. If you want to get the truly best price from an insurer (via a broker), do not tell them what you've had as your best rate. Some insurers just cant cope with this.

I agree Tony, 110%. We're getting this a lot at the moment from our competitors. eg. Customer shops around. We provide our best rate, insure the customer. the customer leaves feedback for us thanking us on the forum, our competitor spots this feedback, contacts the customer and as if by magic...

Commercial and private car NCB's are different but a good insurer can work with either and either allow the full discount (based on what is available) or will offer an introductory discount based on either the commercial or private car NCB. We work with either. Thanks Ollie Sky Insurance...

From when that last policy lapsed or cancelled, providing the NCB was used on the cancelled policy. Sorry, I scan read the original post. Ollie
