Agreed but I have zero spare cash, with the RX8 I'll probably just try and strip it out and buy bits as and when I can, it's in the garage so not causing any problems. As for the MX5 I'm not messing with it at all. A 2J conversion would be awesome but I would then have to buy a 3rd car for work...

I just finished watching this and that thing is ridiculous. I don't know were that guy gets his money but he spent a serious amount doing that car. I'm guessing summit racing gave him good discount too for all the advertising he did for them. :D

Well it finally went bang a few weeks ago! Developed an oil leak from one of the cooler pipes but seeing as I was driving down the motorway and unaware of this the No 2 rotor has been starved of oil and shat itself for lack of a better term. The engine cut out and I had to be recovered to mine...

Nope still going strong, and it's not actually using as much oil as I expected, fuel on the other hand I just don't think about it as I may cry lol.

It's in the lower bracket and is 290 for the year to tax, which is till a lot but after 2006 they went up to 500. Coming from a diesel it's not to much of a change driving wise like you say just warm them up properly and it should be OK.

I just checked Chris and apparently the power starts to drop at 8800, beeps at 9000 but it will got to 9500 although it is believed this is more the tacho being over optimistic so for all intents and purposes it is 9000 or just over. Not that I plan on hitting the limiter obviously but it's nice...

Hold the gear knob and use a spanner to losen the nut underneath it, then just unscrew the knob by hand. Replace with new gear knob and tighten nut.

Quick detail is fine but I wouldn't substitute that for a wash as any dirt that is on your paintwork will be rubbed in to it possibly maring or scratching the paintwork. Quick wash then quick detail spray of you want. Windows are fine to quick detail anytime though. I have never used a glaze...

I forgot to mention if you are clay baring the car today you should give it a quick wash again after the clay to get any clay residue off, its not necessary but I think if your going to all that trouble might as well do it properly.

The wax you bought is quite a good one so I would say at least a month between coats at the moment, two when the weather isn't too harsh. As for shine you need to get a good polish on before the wax that is what will give your paintwork a good shine and the wax will protect it from the weather...

It's not the best road for stopping on really, not very wide, it will be worse weekend though lol. Loggerheads might be better?

I had a similar problem and to get to the connector you need to remove the door cards and maybe some other bits, I didn't look properly. What I did was snip the wires as close to the mirror as possible then reattach them with connectors after replacing the mounting bracket. Everything still...

I'm not saying water wont work I just prefer using Quick Detailer as it mists better and doesn't run as much making it easier to buff off later. Tardis is the best thing I have ever bought, makes using the clay much easier and faster.

This is a massive can of worms as everyone likes different products and has different methods, I personally wouldn't use water to clay bar and would use a quick detailer as lube, but neither are wrong just different choices. I would use 3M products to machine polish though as they are the best...

I have used tardis before but couldn't get hold of it last time I needed some, it is better than the autoglym one but it still does the job.

I just realised I never said the tar remover I used was Autoglym Tar Remover. Pour it into a spray bottle much easier to apply that way.

You should never use petrol on paintwork. This is the process I was taught on a detailing course I did. If you have a pressure washer soak the car, if you have snow foam use that if not just wash the car down to knee height using the two bucket method. Now with a new cloth or wash mitt is better...

I had the maxxis on my car and hated them, thought they lost grip in the bends and you could feel them skip trying to find some grip couldnt wait to get them off. Toyos are much better IMHO.

Try Event tyres, I have just ordered 2 T1R's for £189 and they do mobile fitting at your work place or home and it includes balancing and old tyre disposal, plus it is cheaper the more tyres you order.

They are custom made battery ties that replace the black bit that currently goes across the top of you battery to stop it moving, if you look under group buys in the for sale section MilanoChris sorts them out, they come in red black and blue with an R on them, look nice and a cheap mod.

You could buy one of the battery ties for sale on here, assuming there are still some left?

Wow that is realy shitty. They did offer to protect them for a fee but as I detest being ripped off for insurance anyway because Im a young lad and its a type R, I wasnt willing to pay another 80 quid for it, regretting my stubornness now!!
