Awesome car! I always assumed the performance of a standard FD2 would be similar to a flash pro'd FN2 i.e more mid range & a bit more peak power? I've always liked the champ white ones but the blue looks really good. I'd have to lose the chrome grille surround though, ideally for a mugen one!

So I've just had the gearbox oil changed on my EP3 by Honda as it is crunching into 3rd gear but this hasn't cured the problem. The stealership in Blackpool have said it will need a new 3rd/4th gear synchro ring at a cost of £800!! :eek:. Does anybody out there know of anybody in the north...

I was thinking the same, it's a bit far for me too. Do really like the look of them on the car though, offset is perfect.

Nice looking EP3. How much did the evo 8 alloys set you back? I've got my eye on a set on ebay. They don't look as in good a condition as yours, could do with a re-furb & don't have tyres, just wondered what a reasonable price would be.

I've looked at these exhausts for my ep3 as I think they look pretty good & HKS are a decent manufacturer but can't seem to find anyone on here thats running one. Most popular choices seem to be spoon n1, mugen twin loop, buddy club & DC systems. Like you say it's hard to judge how loud they are...

Yeah the rev limiter is higher now, I used to hit it a lot in 2nd & 3rd when I was giving it some which got frustrating. I'm not sure where it's set now as I've had the needle nearly at 9000rpm & not hit it yet, I hope it's still there, don't fancy lunching my engine! Must be about 8600, ready...

Think Paul said he'd set it at about 4500rpm but the delivery is really smooth now so you don't notice the cam changeover, it just pulls all the way through, makes the car a lot more drivable. He said Honda programmed the definite vtec kick in as a bit of a gimmick to make the K series engine...

Awesome looking car, saw it in the noobs section, great job on getting it back better than ever after the smash!

Got a dyno chart too, it made 205bhp before & 215 now but that isn't the full picture. Mid range torque is up & Paul has got rid of the dip in power & torque before VTEC. It was pulling so much stronger in 5th & 6th on the M6 on the way home.

All I've got is a mugen drop in air filter, that's why it's even more impressive! Just been out & had a play with the launch control, makes you feel like Sebastien Loeb at a set of lights! Just thinking how much more I could achieve with more breathing & exhaust mods!

Ok, bitten the bullet & got the car booked in at TDI North next fri for K100. Really hope it'll live up to the hype, as it's a big old chunk of money to spend! But if all the reviews are anything to go by my trip home from Warrington should be a little more 'assertive' than the trip down.

Thanks guys, I am only really looking to make the car more drivable at the moment and achieve more mid range gains as Loxy said. I'm unsure as to whether TDI quoted me for k-pro or k100 but it was for a re-map & dyno'd. It would appear k100 is the way to go without doing the mods Stoo mentioned.
