Top mounts (when mine failed) would knock. And if you turned the wheel whilst holding the top nut, you should feel it knock.

Have looked at a break down diagram from lings, guess that's where you got the part numbers from ;) Anyone actually done this? Is it as simple as it looks? My mot is due in 20 days and garage will fit it for £10 during MOT. Tempted to pay and leave the hassle to them if honest.

Going to bump this as quicker and easier. my passenger side LEDs in wing mirror have died. Am assuming its an MOT failure which is a pain as its due in 3 weeks. Can you just change the LED as looked and can't see an easy way of accessing them. Or is it a whole new mirror job? cheers :)
