FN2 ODB tool - any worth having?

Probably would have bought the Foxwell nt650 Elite, but now got the NT204 so it doesn't make sense to dump it. Not until I need extra functions at least!

FN2 Bleeding clutch fluid - has anyone done it?

Ah, so you didn't pump it like a brake nipple then - still no air bubbles?

FN2 Bleeding clutch fluid - has anyone done it?

Ah, but do they actually access the nipple? I know of the practice where they just change the reservoir fluid and tell the customer all has been done. I am of very suspicious nature. And don't get me started about wiping filters (and other parts) to look like they've changed them. Or pumping...

FN2 Bleeding clutch fluid - has anyone done it?

Had a go at accessing the clutch bleeding nipple - pushed the intake hose out of the way - yeah right. No way I could safely access it so I put everything back :( Plan B: poor man's fluid change - used a syringe to suck out the existing sludge just below 'MIN' and added fresh brake fluid up...

FN2 Coolant: is it safe to use the drain plug?

I know, already have them on the side and did some searching. Also bought slim plug sockets. Will probably do them when I sit down the do the valves, since they are on the way. A bastid to work on, for no good reason IMO. At least you don't have to drop the engine for simple stuff heh..

FN2 Coolant: is it safe to use the drain plug?

The drain plug actually worked a treat. Honda uses decent plastics it seems. Now the bastid expansion tank is another story.. Whoever greenlighted the FN2 mechanical packaging needs to go back to school. A lot of roundabout work to perform even the simplest of tasks:mad:

FN2 Coolant: is it safe to use the drain plug?

Thanks Wilmo, I'm about to do it and still pondering.. The coolant hose is just next to it and it is tempting to just undo that - a low-risk operation choices, choices heh

FN2 Coolant: is it safe to use the drain plug?

I've heard horror stories that the cheap plastic shatters and you're left looking for new parts:eek: What is the verdict on the FN2, would the drain plug actually work 11 years later? If not, is there an obvious hose people use to drain the coolant? Cheers, John

FN2 Gearbox oil change - all from the side

Just managed to drain and refill the FN2 gearbox without disturbing the annoying engine undercover All was done from the passenger side once the wheel was out of the way and steering was full right Hope this helps someone - my gearbox oil was black and filthy, car has barely 50K (rear tyres are...

EP3 'Money well spent' mods for the FN2

Old thread yeah, but still relevant. I've been aware of the braided line hype for many years now from the motorcycling world. Braided lines do make a difference in feel, but it is comically miniscule in most cases - certainly not worth the aggro. All you have to do is compare fresh fluid + new...

FN2 ODB tool - any worth having?

Thanks guys. Ordered a Foxwell NT204. After a some search on Amazon and fleabay I decided that I don't want to take the risk of a cheap Chinese plug damaging the ECU. And don't get me started on some of the bluetooth dongles demanding for more money in order to use them fully. I read all the...

FN2 ODB tool - any worth having?

Hi guys, Anyone come across an ODB scanner tool worth having for the FN2? Cheers, John

    FN2 Why did you buy a FN2?

Very true, cheapness everywhere. Makes things cost a lot more in the long run, but hey..

    FN2 Why did you buy a FN2?

We now hear of fancy new cars losing big ends and piston rings for no apparent reason, even when not really stressed. I think design/manufacturing standards are dropping year by year, yet people think they are still the same as when their parents were buying cars. Engine bays get smaller and...

    FN2 Why did you buy a FN2?

I'd agree re: oil filter location, well-hidden plugs and ground clearance. And seat settings of course. (we'll see about the others lol) I'm hoping the firm ride will get better with new tyres and new shocks. However I've found the engine bay condition a revelation compared to other 11-year old...

    FN2 Why did you buy a FN2?

3-year old thread but oh-so-relevant For me it was pursuit of RELIABILITY in a 3-door hatch Wherever you look there are fancypants designs claiming fancy power/torque numbers, silly-low mpg and save-a-whale credentials. Fake vents/exhausts/sounds may come as a bonus. Don't get me started...

    FN2 Replacement Sachs shocks

Hi guys, I'm investigating the cost/availability of replacement shocks - in case I need to change them (11 year old and all) Car will only see everyday use, not set a lap at the Ring. Therefore I'd like to stay close to OEM geometry etc Seen replacement Sachs units in onlinecarparts...
