Bad idle - running out of ideas and money now

K20's don't have these

awsome learnt some thing new this year. Erm to keep on with my stupidity / lack of understanding of the K20, what do they have?

Electronic Gubbins and coil packs.

There is a coil on each plug.

Could very well be p90, you know as much as we do

Changed the engine load detector in the fuse box last night at a cost of £50ish and you've guessed it......... It's not made the slightest bit of difference.

Getting close to just getting rid as its just throwing money away on a car that's worth nothing.

had the exact same problem with my old golf GTI. it turned out to be the clutch plate that had cracked and was catching, causing the exact symptoms you are having.

I also through a lot of money at the car, and it was only by chance that the clutch got looked at.

I think it was a once in a blue moon thing and unlikely to happen again, but worth thinking about if you have tried everything else.
